artists date...oh no!!

Me and my hubby decided to go to Tybee Island this morning to just sit a bit and do some walking.  We had a wonderful time and the temperature was perfect.   But on our way back I needed to stop at Publix to pick up some Hazelnut Ice Latte (which is a powder drink I can't seem to let go) and some lemon LaCroix sparkling water and a paper.  However I was devastated when I noticed the Chalkin' up the park title!!!

Because I have started to work I totally forgot about the SCAD Chalk Art Festival and now I had missed it!!!!  Oh Noooooooo!!!!!

To my dismay it was on Saturday and my hubby and I did some gardening and then I had to work.  I so enjoyed the festival last year and couldn't wait for this year.

My hubby was to tired when we got home to even think about going to see the day old chalk art but NOT FOR ME!!!!  I made breakfast and then I headed out in just a frantic panic.  I just hoped that there would be some that were still in good condition.

Last year the park and recreation didn't waste anytime and cleaning off all the chalk art.  They only leave it up for Saturday and Sunday and then its bye bye with a power washer!!!!!!!!!!!!  But even though I wasn't there for Saturday I think I still got some great pictures.  I hope you will enjoy what I could capture from this wonderful event.  I won't be commenting on all the pics since there are so many but I will point out my favorites.  So lets start our walk shall we?  Plus, notice the website to see a video about this festival?  Go to savannahnow.com

This actually says "Greetings from Savannah Georgia.

I love this one because when I was getting ready to move a good friend told me to just breathe with all the upcoming changes in my life.

Love this one it really captures the realistic look of a real dog looking up at you, so cool!

This M&M was great.

As I would try to get rid of the leaves that were on the pics I noticed that I was getting chalk on my hand and let me tell you this doesn't just rub off.  It just smeared and I had to wait until I got home to clean it off.  Now that is some chalk I tell you.  Oh if you are wondering about the gold band on my finger that is cut that was my hubby's wedding ring.  It came to the point that he couldn't keep it on any longer because his fingers were getting to big.  We had to cut it off and I just couldn't leave it in my jewelry box since that was the first time I was off his finger since we were married almost 30 years ago.  So I decided to wear it.  I just get so sentimental about it because it was so important to me.  We will be getting him another replacement but for the rest of my days on this earth I will be wearing his with mine.  Pretty sappy I know, but what is a girl gonna do.  I just love my man!

As you walk you come across the simple squares that you know an up and coming artist work there and I just love the next few pics because I just doesn't matter how complex your art work it still is art to me.

This little guy reminds me of a movie I saw tons of year ago I think was called "Short Circuit".  Loved that move.  One of the saying he would say would be "more input".

This one was great and got a laugh from me when I saw it.

Now this one was just so cool it only had three colors but wow.

This is another one of my favorites.  Love all the colors in the face.

This one was simple but I love that the person added some silver glitter to the create message.

This one is weird but still unique.

I loved the eyelashes on this one.

This is what my hubby and I had for breakfast.

Loved the parrots and can you see the bike tire marks across the middle?  Glad it still was okay to take a pic.

These last two pictures are my ultimate picks for this festival.  Wow love them.

Do you just love it?  To bad it has tire marks on it but still way cool!!!  Well, I hope you loved the walk along the chalk artist as much as I did.  It wasn't the same as being there of the festival and with my hubby by my side but I was thankful that so many were still in good condition.  Next year, however, will be another story, I will make sure I am not working that day so that I can attend.  There is just something about being around all those artists creating.
