I was at the beach last night to have some solitude....just me and my journal.....and a poem book of course. It was perfect out with a wonderful breeze and no humidity!!! Got to love it and I did. After I spent some time writing (which I find I normally do not journal write but sometimes I just have a need to) I read out of this Hallmark poem book and just loved the poem it is by Helen Lowrie Marshall and it reads:
You Never Know
You never know when someone
May catch a dream from you.
You never know when a little word
Or something you may do
May open up the windows
Of a mind that seeks the light-
The way you live may not matter at all,
But you never know-it might.
And just in case it could be
That another's life, through you,
Might possibly change for the better
With a broader and brighter view,
It seems it might be worth a try
At pointing the way to the right-
Of course, it may not matter at all,
But then again-it might.
So many times we forget that our very lives are touching someone....somewhere without us even knowing it....and how wonderful that truly is. To give a smile to someone or just by saying hi.....taking the time to listen to a friend in need or doing simple acts of kindness to another.....or just by being you everyday does truly change lives. It just seemed to touch me when I read this little poem, so I thought I would share it with you. May you go out and simply be you today.
